Strengthening our Youth through Scripture, Testimony, and Church Leadership
The Great Disciple Challenge is designed to help our youth grow spiritually and develop a stronger foundation in the gospel of Jesus Christ. By engaging in scripture study, memorization, learning about Church leadership, and bearing testimony, participants will experience an increased sense of community and personal growth.

Scripture study has always been a central part of the teachings of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. By diving into the standard works (the Bible, the Book of Mormon, the Doctrine and Covenants, and the Pearl of Great Price), we gain access to the words of ancient and modern prophets and are better able to understand God’s plan for His children. As Nephi taught, “Feast upon the words of Christ; for behold, the words of Christ will tell you all things what ye should do” (2 Nephi 32:3).
The Importance of Knowing Church Leadership
Modern Prophets
Our youth are better prepared to follow their counsel and guidance by learning about the modern prophets and apostles.
“As you prayerfully learn from your leaders, you will be guided to know what the Lord would have you do.”
Bearing Testimony
Bearing testimony in church, especially during Fast Sunday, is a powerful way for our youth to strengthen their faith and feel connected to their ward family. Elder David A. Bednar said, “The Holy Ghost is the third member of the Godhead, and he is the teacher, the testifier, the comforter, and the guide who helps us to learn and live the gospel” (“Receive the Holy Ghost,” General Conference, October 2010).

Through consistent effort and dedication, they will become more Christlike disciples, ready to face life’s challenges with faith and resilience.
